Our Place Himalayas is owned and managed by Anita; wife of a renowned orchardist Ashok Khullar. The Khullars relationship with the Kullu Valley goes back six generations. The family grew tea from 1924-46 and ran the prestigious Mayflower Hotel, known also for its nine-hole golf course. But fluctuations in weather conditions forced the family to move into orchard farming and horticulture. The orchards still stand.

Infact, Our Place Himalayas was born out of Anita's love of meeting people and sharing with them the peace and beauty of the land.

Married into the family almost four decades, Anita instantly fell in love with Raison. An artist and an avid gardener and a mother of two daughters, she is passionate about helping villagers, contributing to the local society and conserving the local culture and heritage.

Her unprecedented attention to detail can be found on the entire estate - its gardens, home-made products, the gourmet food prepared for guests and family, art works and the interior décor of the cottages. The couple live in a lovely Tudor style bungalow in the same estate.
